Default Guild Wars New Year’s Movie Bashtastic

Ever wanted to be in a Guild Wars movie? Now is your chance! Announcing the Max Damage Guild Wars New Year’s Movie Bashtastic! Max Damage will be filming a New Year’s Eve party on Dec. 30 at 9:00pm Eastern Time in District 6 of Lion’s Arch (6 for 2006, of course). You may have noticed that this is not actually New Year’s Eve. We figured people just might be doing something other than Guild Wars on New Year’s Eve (probably not, though. I mean, who are we kidding?). But we want to actually launch the movie on New Year’s Eve, so we are filming it the day before so we have time for editing. Bring your best armor, your dancing skills, your list of creative emotes, and all Guild Wars buddies. Several events will be taking place during the course of the evening. These include the Lion’s Arch Lag Race, where you will witness people with slower connections jump through the space time continuum… and the Guild Dance Contest, where members of the same Guild who can develop the best choreographed dance will be eligible for in-game prizes and a special part in our movie. So, to review:

Event: Guild Wars New Year’s Movie Bashtastic
When: Dec. 30 at 9:00pm Eastern Time
Where: District 6 of Lion’s Arch

Questions or suggestions can be sent to [email protected] or you can just post them here. Hope to see everyone there!

Default District

Yes, it is in the American district since that's where we're located. Sorry if that doesn't work for everyone, but we had to pick one...

Sheesh I'm not good with time zones. What time would it be in Austin Texas? I believe it's in Central time zone. ^^http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/i...es/biggrin.gif

I don't mean to disappoint anyone, but the movie was filmed last night, in Lion's Arch 6, at 9 EST. I look forward to seeing it today, and I hope I was in it *somehow*.

I'm impressed that I was still there, considering I left after about 20 minutes or so. It was the same problem with getting a group together for a mission that it was getting a group together to dance - too many chiefs, not enough indians! After a while I bailed due to frustration. It was fun while it lasted

Default What the...

Yes, it was fun...but very much chaos. We could not even come close to organizing people to stand in the same area to start the Lag Race, so we scrapped that idea. Instead, we just had everyone dance and got the best footage we could. Running an "event" in a public district in Guild Wars is quite difficult to coordinate, that's for sure. The movie turned out well enough, but maybe in the future we can figure out a way to keep more people informed on what is happening.

I thought it was really funny, Zerek. So considering what you had to work with, congrats!
